Everyone always cries foul at attempts to legislate morality. Don’t people get it… all law derives from morality, from our collective sense or what’s right and what’s wrong.
I was talking about this with a friend of mine and the question came up as to laws that were purely moral and not pragmatic. Many “moral” laws also allow our society to function. The thou shalt nots of murdering, stealing and lying also cause problems for general social stability.
